The Fort McMurray Pottery Guild is a non-profit organization founded in 1983 for the purpose of promoting clay arts. The pottery studio is a place for our members and students to share ideas and techniques and to explore the craft of pottery.  Our skills range from the beginning to the expert level.

 Pottery Classes

If you are interested in taking a class with us, pleaseemail us at fmpotteryclasses@gmail.com. We will add your name and email address to our blast list to be notified of updated class / registration dates.

Registration fees are:

  • Adult classes $225;
  • Kids Class $200


Adult classes are for adults 18 yrs and older.


Kids class is for kids 8 – 12 yrs only.

Please respect the class age ranges; the number of instructors / class activities classes are planned accordingly. You may be asked to present a birth certificate or ID for kids class registration. If kids are identified to be under the age of 8 after classes start, parents will be advised that they cannot return to complete the classes, and fees refunded.


Fall 2018 Classes:


Adult Evening Class #1: Starting Sept 11, 2018 for 8 weeks each Tuesday from 6:30 - 8:30 pm

Adult Evening Class #2: Starting Sept 12, 2018 for 8 weeks each Wednesday from 6:30 - 8:30 pm

Kids Class: Starting Sept 18th, 2018 for 7 weeks each Thursday from 4:00 - 5:30 pm.


Registration for all classes will be: Sept 7th from 7-8pm at the Pottery Guild in the Casman Centre, 110 Eymundson Dr.

Fort McMurray Potters Guild is a volunteer non-profit organization

Fort McMurray Potters' Guild offers Beginner Adult Classes for those 18 yrs and older and Children's Classes for kids 8 - 12 yrs. Classes are held from Sept through April of each year. Use of tools, clay, glazes and the cost of firing are all included in the class fee.

Adult classes run for 8 consecutive weeks. Participants will learn how to work with clay, learn hand-building and throwing techniques, trimming, and glazing to finish your pieces. Classes are usually offered in the evening from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Morning classes may also be available depending on demand/instructor availability.

Kids classes run for 7 consecutive weeks. Kids will learn hand-building techniques and will finish pieces by painting and glazing. Classes are offered after school from 4:00 - 5:30.
